- Benefits
- An investment basis for a residence application, subject to immigration approval, it does not automatically confer citizenship.
- Eligibility
- Eligible foreign investors using a statutory category such as qualifying Bulgarian company securities, concession rights or eligible collective/alternative investment funds.
- Requirements
- Obtain Investment Agency pre-approval before investing. Provide identity, source-of-funds and investment evidence and satisfy the category’s capital and holding conditions. The Agency expressly states that pre-approval alone is not a basis for a long-stay visa or residence: the qualifying investment and immigration stages must follow.

Obtain permanent residence by the approved investment basis and maintain the relevant obligations.

Bulgarian citizenship · ordinary basis
Ordinarily, permanent or long-term residence must have been held for at least five years. Bulgarian language, income or occupation, criminal-record and nationality-release requirements apply, with statutory exceptions.
This is the ordinary residence-based nationality route. The former accelerated citizenship-by-investment route is not being offered.
