- A–D require the relevant land, capital, licences or professional qualifications, E concerns qualifying permanent employment, F requires secure overseas income without working in Cyprus.

- Use the category-specific MIP2 checklist. From 1 September 2026, new A–F applications also require certified medical screening for hepatitis B/C, HIV, syphilis and tuberculosis, subject to the stated exemption for existing records.

Residency to citizenship

Residence
Maintain a qualifying residence status and establish actual lawful residence in Cyprus.
- 02
Permanent or long-term residence
Investor permanent residence and eligible immigration permits can grant permanent status directly. Other residence categories must meet their own long-term-status conditions.

Cypriot citizenship · ordinary basis
Normally seven cumulative years of lawful residence in the preceding ten years plus the final twelve months continuously (limited absences allowed). Greek B1, civic knowledge, means of support, accommodation, character and intention to remain are required.
Holding a Cyprus residence card while living elsewhere is insufficient. Permanent residence is not a compulsory stage for every nationality applicant.
