Permanent residence for the approved applicant and eligible dependants, a separate status from citizenship.
Eligibility
Eligible non-EEA/non-Swiss nationals with clean records and assets of €500,000 including €150,000 financial assets, or €650,000 including €75,000 financial assets.
Requirements
Purchase for at least €375,000 and hold for five years. Budget separately for €60,000 administration, €37,000 contribution, a €2,000 donation and dependant fees. A licensed agent, insurance and due diligence are required.

    Meet the property, contribution, financial-resource and due-diligence conditions of the permanent residence programme.

    Permanent residence

    MPRP grants permanent residence subject to its continuing conditions. Actual residence must separately be established for a nationality application.

  3. 03
    Maltese citizenship · discretionary

    Residence-based naturalisation requires the final twelve months of residence plus four years in the preceding six, English or Maltese, good character and suitability. The Minister decides whether to grant nationality.

Meeting the residence period creates eligibility to apply, not an entitlement. MPRP is a residence programme and does not promise Maltese citizenship.

How does this application work?

A licensed MPRP agent submits the application and due-diligence file. Follow Residency Malta’s approval instructions for the qualifying purchase, contribution, donation and insurance evidence. Complete the residence-card formalities and maintain the qualifying property for five years and a residential property thereafter.
