Family residence, Non-Immigrant O

Long-stay or temporary permission: Maintain the requirements of this Thai visa category. Its validity is not a promise of permanent residence or citizenship. Any later settlement case needs a separate legal basis, qualifying residence record and individual approval.

Determine whether the case is based on a Thai relative or a foreign sponsor, obtain the correct relationship and financial documents and apply for Non-Immigrant O permission and any later extension.

A qualifying spouse, child or other eligible dependant under the particular Thai-family or foreign-sponsor rules. Requirements differ between those two bases.

Civil relationship certificates, sponsor identification and immigration status, financial evidence and translated or legalised records where required.

Temporary family stay, with extensions assessed against the sponsor and relationship category.

A family visa does not itself confer nationality or unrestricted work rights. A separate work or nationality basis may be needed.
