A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Questions, answered.

The application, qualifying conditions and outcome for Thailand. Choose a service to see its specific answers.

Does this service lead to residence, settlement or citizenship?

Long-stay or temporary permission: Maintain the requirements of this Thai visa category. Its validity is not a promise of permanent residence or citizenship. Any later settlement case needs a separate legal basis, qualifying residence record and individual approval.

How does this application work?

Submit the LTR, Wealthy Global Citizen qualification evidence to the Board of Investment, obtain endorsement and complete visa issuance. Maintain the qualifying employment, investment or income basis and satisfy the five-year review.

Last updated on
Who can qualify for this category?

Personal assets of at least USD 1 million and at least USD 500,000 in qualifying Thai investment. The former separate annual-income threshold was removed in the 2025 changes.

Last updated on
What evidence and financial commitments are required?

Prove asset ownership, qualifying Thai investment and the required health cover or alternative financial security, alongside identity and background records.

Last updated on
What permission does this route provide?

A conditional ten-year long-term resident framework, issued with a five-year qualification review, and annual immigration reporting instead of the usual 90-day reporting.

What limitations should I understand?

LTR is not permanent residence or automatic citizenship. Work-from-Thailand permission does not authorise a job with a Thai employer. Health cover normally requires USD 50,000, qualifying social security or the permitted USD 100,000 deposit alternative.
