Long-term permission for qualifying specialists in targeted industries and organisations.
Long-stay or temporary permissionLTR is not permanent residence or automatic citizenship. Work-from-Thailand permission does not authorise a job with a Thai employer. Health cover normally requires USD 50,000, qualifying social security or the permitted USD 100,000 deposit alternative.
- Benefits
- A conditional ten-year long-term resident framework, issued with a five-year qualification review, and annual immigration reporting instead of the usual 90-day reporting.
- Eligibility
- Relevant specialist employment and normally USD 80,000 annual income, or USD 40,000 to USD 80,000 with the specified science or technology qualification. Separate exemptions apply to certain government work.
- Requirements
- Provide the Thai employment or engagement evidence, professional expertise, income and qualifications, plus health cover. A work permit must be obtained where the approved activity requires it.
