- Long-term status depends on approval and continuing statutory conditions. It does not automatically provide nationality or a general exemption from work-permit rules.
- Eligibility
- Normally eight years of qualifying continuous residence, sufficient stable resources, health cover, no social assistance during the preceding three years and the required public-order and security conditions.
- Requirements
- Provide the residence and travel record, financial and insurance documents and other requested evidence. Student-permit periods count at half rate. An absence exceeding one continuous year can lead to cancellation unless a statutory exception applies.
