YOUR LONG-TERM PATHWAY
Residency to citizenship
- 01
Property-based residence
Obtain and renew the qualifying residence permit and make Türkiye your actual place of residence.
- 02
Qualifying residence · 5 years
Ordinary naturalisation requires five years of qualifying uninterrupted residence, settlement intention, Turkish language, means of support and the other character, health and security conditions.
- 03
Citizenship application
Submit a separate naturalisation application. Long-term residence is a different option, ordinarily after eight years, and is not a required intermediate step.
Property residence is different from citizenship by investment. A residence purchase does not automatically qualify for the investment-citizenship programme.
Each stage requires its own qualifying conditions and decision. The years shown are eligibility periods, not approval times.
