Permanent residence is not a compulsory intermediate stage. The current ordinary naturalisation rule requires no departures during the preceding two years, so a low-stay residence plan is insufficient.

Citizenship following approval by the National Migration Directorate, followed by the relevant identity and passport formalities.
Eligibility
Age over 18, with temporary or permanent residence and two continuous lawful years immediately before the application, without leaving Argentina during those two years.
Requirements
