Residency to citizenship
01
Guest investor residence
Receive the guest-investor permit after satisfying the qualifying investment or donation requirements.
02
National Residence Card · from 3 years
A separate settlement assessment requires at least three years of actual uninterrupted legal residence, accommodation, resources, health cover and the applicable cultural-knowledge conditions.
03
Hungarian citizenship · ordinary basis
Ordinary naturalisation requires eight years of qualifying continuous residence under the nationality rules, a clean record, means of support, accommodation and the Hungarian constitutional-knowledge examination unless exempt.
A ten-year investor permit is not ten years of physical residence. The nationality residence clock must be assessed under the Citizenship Act, not simply from the investment date.
Each stage requires its own qualifying conditions and decision. The years shown are eligibility periods, not approval times.
