YOUR LONG-TERM PATHWAY
Residency to citizenship
- 01
Business residence
Build and operate the endorsed business under a qualifying Business Migrant permission.
- 02
Indefinite leave to remain
Innovator settlement can be available after three qualifying years if endorsement, business outcomes and the other settlement requirements are met.
- 03
British citizenship
Ordinarily five years of qualifying residence in the UK and Islands, including twelve months free from immigration time restrictions, with the applicable absence, language, life-knowledge and character requirements.
Isle of Man residence leads, where eligible, to British citizenship. Innovator settlement after three years is not a promise of citizenship in year four.
Each stage requires its own qualifying conditions and decision. The years shown are eligibility periods, not approval times.
