Residence for eligible higher-education studies in Portugal, distinct from a promise of admission, employment or permanent status.

Temporary permission

Benefits: The normal higher-education residence permit can last three years or the remaining course if shorter. Mobility and other study categories have their own rules.
Eligibility: Admission to an eligible higher-education institution and the applicable enrolment, resources, insurance and general immigration conditions.
Requirements: Prepare admission and enrolment evidence, tuition information where relevant, passport, accommodation, health cover and resources. Student work and any later residence change depend on the applicable conditions.
